Examples of using footnotes correctly
Essay (see bottom of page for footnotes)
This is an example of how to use footnotes. D.M. Thomas, a noted biographer of Solzhenitsyn, claims that Solzhenitsyn is not anti-Semitic. These stereotypes developed when Solzhenitsyn was suggesting that Russia return to its traditions. Although these traditions do include much anti-Semitism, Thomas claims that this was never the intent of Solzhenitsyn. On the other hand, in China one can find examples of governmental actions that appear far more brutal than anything Solzhenitsyn suggested.
